This site was created for a group of scientists who perform research in the area of chemical communication. There's a lot of scientific jargon, but it is not intended for a general audience.

 

Ansette worked with the group of stakeholders to come up with a design, including original artwork, that highlighted the points they wanted to cover, the research they are working on, and the staff behind the institute. 

Content Management:

The Bloomington Alternative

 

This weekly print and online alternative newspaper started first as a web site in 2002. Featuring news articles and columns by local journalists, the site is expanding in to a full-fledged online newspaper. The simple, custom content management system built on Drupal was programmed by Ansette to meet the specific needs of the publication just starting. The design goal was for simplicity and ease of use for readers.

Ansette has experience creating custom web applications for high traffic web sites. For the Indiana University Alumni Association, a PHP application and mySQL database was created to hold a subset of alumni information from a large legacy database system, providing the capability for alumni to search over 400,000 records in a few seconds in a variety of useful ways. Transaction safe, ACID compliant tables using the InnoDB database engine ensure that only complete record updates are stored. The application has been in service since 2000. Because of the way it was programmed, it was able to easily be migrated to Microsoft IIS and SQL servers simply by changing a setting.

This is a great example of a design that shows off the stonework — limestone in particular. In business since 1827, this company provides stone for buildings all over the world, and they wanted a web presence that conveyed that. A full-length video gives an overview of the company, the facilities, and the products.
